Michael Jones has appeared as a professional tenor with some of the nation's finest choral ensembles including Chicago's Grant Park Festival Chorus and The Crossing, a Philadelphia-based chamber choir that specializes in new music.
Michael is equally at home with jazz standards and works of Western masters like Bach, Brahms, and Beethoven. Recent performances included Beethoven's Missa Solemnis with the Dallas Choral Festival, Bach's St. John Passion with the Chicago Bach Project, and a full season of premieres with The Crossing.
While studying for Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in jazz trumpet, Michael pursued studies in classical voice with David Adams at University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music and Keven Keys at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. He was a founding member of the Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Donald Nally.
